Harris County authorities discovered a methamphetamine lab Thursday inside an Ellerslie, Ga., trailer home.

Lt. Jim Price with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said his team conducted a search at 16369 Ga. Highway 315 about 9 a.m.

Before the investigators even entered the trailer, they could smell a strong chemical odor wafting from the residence and hear the aggressive barks and snarls of a pit bull dog, Price said.

On the porch, authorities found a trash bag containing materials that could be used to construct and operate a meth lab, the lieutenant said.

Located inside the residence were three portable meth labs and approximately $700 worth of the drug.

Charged with possession of methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine was Kevin Myron Allen, 36, of the Ellerslie address.

Allen was already in the Harris County jail for violating his parole when Price and his team raided his house.
