Police identify shooting victim
Valley, Ala., police have identified a man who was shot and killed early Monday morning.
Yokbricus Monte Taylor, 22, was pronounced dead at Lanier Hospital in Valley after being shot in the chest.
Taylor was fatally shot during a encounter that occurred at a home on 29th Boulevard in Valley around 4 a.m. Monday. The homeowner, Eric Nelson, told police that upon arriving at the house after work, he was confronted by two men.
Nelson fired at one of the men, who ran away.
The second suspect, Taylor, confronted Nelson brandishing a gun, police said.
Nelson told police he fired at Taylor three times before hitting him.
Valley Police Criminal Investigations Division have identified a person of interest who might have witnessed the event.
