Money saver
If the Muscogee County School District wants to save money they should let all of their retired employees stay retired rather than hiring them back at 49 percent pay.
Just as good
I was in my Camry stopped behind a new Lexus. I wished I could have told the driver, “My car looks as good as yours but only cost half what yours did. Sorry.”
Stupid idea
During these tough times who in the city had the lame-brain idea to erect a granite memorial to honor city employees who had died — not in the line of duty, just died? A real stupid idea.
Not guilty
Marshal Greg Countryman himself asked for the audit and the investigation. There is no guilt on his part.
Is it ethical?
How is it ethical to spend taxpayer funds to destroy life in the unfounded hope of treating illness through embryonic stem cell research?
What crisis?
In 1940, 91 percent of Americans had no health insurance. In 1960, 52 percent had no health insurance. From 2000 to 2007, only 15-17 percent had no health insurance. So why are politicians lying about the “new crisis” of uninsured Americans?
It’s just you
Is it just me or does Rihanna’s forehead remind you of the aliens in “Mars Attacks”?
Remember LBJ
When Obama says his healthcare plan will cost $634 billion over 10 years, remember that LBJ assured us (repeatedly) that enacting Medicare would cost $500 million. Today, Medicare has an unfunded liability of $74 trillion.
Whoa!
Obama reminds me of the man who climbed on his horse and galloped off in all directions.
Gas is barbaric
Consider calling state Sen. Ed Harbison to get him to support SB232, a bill to provide humane euthanasia of animals in Georgia’s animal control facilities. Currently, animals are euthanized in gas chambers, which is barbaric.
