The wife of a fallen 3rd Brigade soldier got a court order today restraining his mother from embalming the body until she can harvest his sperm.

In the emergency motion filed in U.S. district court in Columbus, Kynesha Dhanoolal said she and her husband, Sgt. Dayne Darren Dhanoolal, who died Monday in Iraq, desperately wanted to have children. She said she recently had surgery so she could conceive a child when her husband returned from Iraq. Her husband, deployed with Fort Benning’s 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, was to return home in three weeks. He was 26 years old.

According to court documents, Sgt. Dhanoolal had designated his mother, Monica Mary Brown, to handle his burial, and his wife was to receive his financial benefits.
