The Columbus Police Department and FBI held a news conference at 1:30 p.m. today to confirm that Michael Jason Registe is a suspect in the murders of Randy Newton and Bryan Kilgore.
Police believe the motive in the murders is robbery.
The Ledger-Enquirer printed information about Registe in Wednesday's newspaper. Maj. Russell Traino thanked WRBL-3, WTVM-9 and the Columbus Times for waiting until his department officially released the information.
"The whole town needs to be on the lookout for him," Traino said of Registe, adding that he's hoping Registe is still in the area.
Two warrants have been issued for Registe's arrest, one for each of the two murders.
The FBI announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Registe.
