Thomas Friedman will speak at Auburn University on Oct. 2

A three-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Thomas Friedman will speak at Auburn University on Oct. 2.

The foreign affairs columnist of the New York Times who is syndicated in hundreds of newspapers will lecture at 4 p.m. Central in the Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum.

The free lecture is part of Auburn's Littleton-Franklin Lecture Series in Science and Humanities.

Friedman has covered many of the monumental stories of recent decades from the return of Hong Kong to China and the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin. Friedman's latest book is the best seller "The World is Flat."

High schools with students interested in attending the lecture, which will be followed by a question and answer session, should notify Teresa Whitman-McCall at whitmtl@auburn.eduby Sept. 25 to tell how many students they will be bringing.
