After a brief march to the federal courthouse in Columbus, Georgia, eleven people charged with trespassing onto Fort Benning during the annual SOA WAtch protest and supporters rallied briefly before entering the courthouse.
Diane Lopez Hughes,58, of Springfield, Illinois, and Edwin Ross Lewinton,76, of Newark, New Jersey, both spoke to those gathered. They and the other defenedants could face up to six months in prison if convicted. The hearings begin at 9 a.m. before U.S. Magistrate G. Mallon Faircloth.
