Russell County to observe sales tax holiday

jrutledge@ledger-enquirer.comJuly 10, 2008

Russell County businesses will observe the Alabama sales tax holiday Aug. 1-3, 2008.

The sales tax holiday is approved by the Alabama Legislature each year since 1996 to help parents and students prepare for the coming school year. School-related items ranging from notebooks and pencils to computers and clothing will be exempt from state sales tax for the period.

The Russell County Commission gave its approval for the holiday observance in the county earlier this week.
