Columbus women shot in dispute

A late-afternoon shooting on Old Cusseta Road Sunday sent one woman to the hospital and two more women to the Muscogee County jail.

Tiffany Scott, 23 of 4685 Old Cusseta Road, was arrested by Columbus Police and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the shooting of Shante Rogers, 20, of 4241 Debbie Street, Apartment A.

Rogers was in critical condition at The Medical Center with a wound to her upper left chest, Columbus Police Lt. Charles Kennedy said Monday morning.

Lekeisha Crowell, 22, was arrested for giving false statements to police.

Scott and Rogers got into an argument shortly after 5 p.m. about a possible hit-and-run accident Rogers had witnessed.

"The two had prior problems," Kennedy said. Rogers was shot with a handgun, Kennedy said.

Crowell is accused of making misleading statements to keep police from recovering the gun, which was found, Kennedy said.
