Jim Martin made a brief appearance in Columbus Sunday afternoon during a multi-city campaign swing through Georgia in his bid to unseat U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss.
Martin and Chambliss face each other in a runoff Tuesday.
Between 50 and 75 people attended the rally at the Muscogee County Democratic Party Headquarters on Macon Road in Columbus.
Stumping for Martin were local representative Calvin Smyre, North Carolina Congressman G.K. Butterfield, the chief deputy whip in the U.S. House of Representatives, and retired United States Army Lt. General Claudia Kennedy.
Both Martin and Kennedy answered several questions pertaining to veterans' issues.
The Martin campaign spent about an hour at the rally before leaving for their next stop in Norcross, Ga.
