jrutledge@ledger-enquirer.comMarch 24, 2009

Smiths Station's Whitney Ryles, only a month into a track career, has been signed by Columbus State University to pole vault and throw the javelin. Ryles has been a track athlete for only six weeks and three events, yet she is ranked No. 7 in Alabama as a javelin thrower. Previously, she played softball and was a cheerleader for the Panthers.
