Saturday, one festival hopes to prove you’re never too old — or too young — to rock.

It’s Rockfest, a 40-band event open to all ages at Gallery 13 on Veterans Parkway in Columbus. The lineup spans alternative, punk, metal and more.

Fans can look forward to 12 hours of music on three stages.

The event’s headlining act, Primer 55, hails from Atlanta. Members cite influences like Slayer, Soulfly and Rancid.

A majority of the featured bands are from Georgia, according to event organizer Eric Carroll of Local Productions.

Expect some of the most intriguing band names ever. A sampling: Standing Behind You With Knives, Shards of Humanity, Caution the Senate, Season of Shame, Skin Engine and Mourn No More.

The alcohol-free event also includes “Guitar Hero,” “Call of Duty 4” and “Halo 3” tournaments.
