Former Chattahoochee Valley Community College pitcher Nick Sarianides didn’t have much time to get used to pitching against wood bats before it became part of his new career.
The right-handed pitcher signed with the Cleveland Indians on Sunday after less than a month with the wood-bat summer-league Lima (Ohio) Locos, choosing to forgo his sophomore season at CVCC.
Sarianides was drafted in the 28th round of last month’s amateur draft. He previously said he expected to play through the summer with the Locos, see what the Indians were willing to offer and was strongly in favor of returning to CVCC.
