Columbus crime: Police investigate car break-ins across town

A rash of car break-ins across Columbus over the holiday weekend have police investigating.

Several vehicles were broken into at a mechanic’s garage, 1257 Metro Drive, between 11 p.m. Friday and 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police said. A number of car stereos were taken from the vehicles, reports show.

One vehicle was taken from the business, though it was later found on Kingsberry Street, reports state.

Another set of break-ins happened at the Wyndham Garden Hotel, 4027 Veterans Court, between 9 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday, police said. Items taken from vehicles include a flat-screen TV monitor, radio and DVDs.

Other car break-ins that happened around the same time include one at Residence Inn, 2670 Adams Farm Drive. A Ford F150 was entered, and a pressure washer valued at $450 taken, police said.
