A Carver High student was recognized at the Future Business Leaders of America's Awards of Excellence.

Mariah Porter, president of Carver's chapter of FBLA, was recognized at the national awards ceremony on June 28. She competed for the Hamden L. Forkner Award by preparing a Local Chapter Annual Business Report and won second place.

Business reports are used to inform management, staff, stockholders and the public on aspects of the business. The Forkner Award recognizes FBLA chapters that effectively summarize activities throughout the year.

The Carver High FBLA has also been recognized as one of the top 10 chapters in the state.
