Babe Ruth tourney at Bull Creek fields

The 2009 Georgia Babe Ruth baseball tournament are being held at Bull Creek baseball fields.

In the tournament for 14-year-olds, Bull Creek opened play Friday with a 9-6 victory. Bull Creek advanced to today’s championship game with a 19-6 win over Harris County on Saturday. North Columbus also advanced to the title game with a 12-2 win over Harris County.

In the 16-18 tournament, Harris County won the crown with a 17-1 win on Friday and a 13-4 win on Saturday over Bull Creek.

The 13 tournament is scheduled to begin Monday and run through July 19, while the 15 tournament is set to be played July 16-19.

YOUTH SOFTBALL

Warner Robins beats Northern 7-3

CLAYTON, Ga. — Warner Robins beat Northern 7-3 in the opening round of the Senior Little League softball tournament on Saturday.

Northern will play West Point today in an elimination game.

The Junior softball tournament begins today. Pioneer will face Madison County at 11 a.m.
