The Fraternal Order of the Police Marcus Bruce Lee Lodge 14 is accepting donations for a yard sale on July 25 at the Wal-Mart Shopping Center in Phenix City. Proceeds will support programs sponsored by the FOP.

“We will take anything and everything,” said Amanda Jenkins, treasurer, FOP state liaison and Russell County Sheriff’s Deputy.

The local FOP, chartered in 1993, supports events like the Special Olympics, holiday donations for families in need and assistance for officers who have suffered hardships, particularly in the line of duty. The club offers members vital benefits, fellowship and active civil involvement. It also gives active law enforcement employees and associates a place to meet, socialize and organize activities.

“We support our own,” said Gary Leeds, the current president and a Phenix City police officer. “And we step in and render assistance, right here.”

To donate items for the yard sale, call Bill Friend at 334-297-7964. The sale starts at 8 a.m. on July 25. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and soda will be available.
