St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 69 Mobley Road off Ga. 116, will show "Valley of Hope: Pine Mountain Valley Resettlement Village," a DVD documentary, at 7 p.m. Aug. 12.

The DVD was produced by area residents Paul Johnston and David Johnson. Johnston lives in Columbus and Johnson lives in Pine Mountain Valley.

The two men interviewed and compiled history for more than a year. The DVD is an hour long and narrates one of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's most complete resettlement villages of the 1930s. The villages were in response to the displacement caused by the great Depression of 1929. A Holy Eucharist service precedes the showing at 6:30 p.m.
