A Smiths, Ala., man was carjacked early this morning at Booker T. Washington Apartments, Columbus police said.

The 27-year-old man was on Fifth Avenue around 3:15 a.m. when he was threatened with a pistol by two suspects, reports state. His silver, two-door 2002 Chevrolet Tracker with an Alabama tag was taken from him.

The Smiths man had injuries to his elbows, legs and scrapes to both his feet, police said.

The two male suspects are described as between 18 and 25 years old and between 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-1, reports state. One of them was wearing a white T-shirt, blue-jean shorts, had low-cut hair and was clean shaven. The other was wearing a white tank top, dark pants and wore braided hair.
