CSU women golfers struggle in invitational

New London, N.C. — The Columbus State women’s golf team struggled Monday in the first round of the Lady Falcon/McNairy Invitational with a 55-over 343. CSU is in 11th place in the 14-team field.

Catawba College shot 310 and leads NAIA USC-Beaufort by three shots.

Carson-Newman’s Sarah Jane Sinard is the clubhouse leader with a 1-under 71.

CSU’s Kimesha Anthony is tied for ninth with a 79. CSU’s other players were Heather Altiser (85, tie-41st) (45-40), Alex Schluter (88, t-45), Ashley Garrett (91, t-50) and Samantha Hamilton (102, 65).

The final round takes place today.
