The Peach Belt Conference named Columbus State’s Meshack Koyiaki as the Runner of the Week.

He got off to a great start in the 2009 cross-country season opener at Berry College on Saturday. The sophomore won the individual title by 30 seconds over teammate Nicholas Kering. CSU finished second in the 20-team meet.

Koyiaki posted the top time so far for a PBC runner in competition this fall with his 24:33 run.

Koyiaki and his teammates will compete again on Sept. 26 at the Mercer Invitational in Macon.
