Seven musicians. Twenty-two instruments. Two dancers. One stage.
Celtic Crossroads brings its Irish rhythm to the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts on Saturday.
Eastern European Gypsy, European Celtic and north American Bluegrass are combined with classical and jazz in the show.
The name Celtic Crossroads refers to Irish history when neighboring communities met at the crossroads between towns and villages to socialize.
Guests to the show can expect to hear music from uilleann pipes, whistles, the Irish harp, fiddles, the banjo, the mandolin, the accordion, the mandola, the bouzouki, guitars and flutes.
With the thunderous bodhran rhythms, the audience is encouraged to stomp along with the music as Irish dancers heat up the stage and musicians play each other’s instruments.
The musicians featured in the show are:
Marianne Knight: lead vocals, accordian, bodhran, dance.
Michael Mcclintock: fiddle, vocals, mandolin, guitar
Johnny Berrill: guitar, classical flute
Lindsay Moynagh: wooden flute, tin whistle, harp, accordian
Diarmaid Hurley: bodhran, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar,
Zac Leger: flutes, Uilleann pipes, cajon, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar
