Party at The Loft Friday and you might just mingle with music's next big thing.
That’s because the hot spot is hosting New Music from the Left Coast of Georgia, a showcase that will feature some of the Columbus area’s top talent.
The event, presented by Music In Columbus and the Loft Live, is a fundraiser for the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
What: New Music from the Left Coast of Georgia
When: Friday — meet and greet at 6:30 p.m., music at 8 p.m.
Where: The Loft, 1032 Broadway
Cost: Meet and greet is $25 singles, $35 couples. Music showcase is $10.

Note: Reservations are preferred for the meet and greet, which includes a performance by the CSU Faculty Jazz Quartet, hors d’oeuvres and preferred showcase seating.
Performers span a variety of genres.
The lineup features Christian music from Garrett Lee, a local artist who’s shared the stage with big-name Christian artists like Big Daddy Weave and Josh Wilson.
Then, there’s Marshall Ruffin, who hooks audiences with his unique blend of Americana and blues.
Friday’s guests will also see Montgomery Gunn, a band rapidly gaining momentum on the country music scene. They’re preparing to release a debut CD.
Like alternative rock? The showcase includes a performance by Spy for Hire, billed as the illegitimate love child of an affair between Tears for Fears, Hall & Oates and Swervedriver.
The four acts will be followed by a performance by Peggy Jenkins and the Bizness at 11 p.m.
