LaGrange council is scheduled to discuss ordinances related to “adult entertainment”

Published: October 13, 2009

LAGRANGE, Ga. — LaGrange City Council is scheduled to take up discussion tonight on changes to two city ordinances pertaining to adult entertainment.

The first proposed change would prohibit “sexually oriented businesses and adult entertainment establishments” within the city’s parkway overlay zone. The second proposed ordinance change would specify the definition of “adult entertainment establishments.”

City officials said both items are routine housekeeping measures to clean up city code. Although, the proposed ordinance amendments come as neighboring Auburn, Ala. saw the opening of a new risqué business within its city limits.

A women’s clothing store called Kalli’s, located on South College Street, is selling not only apparel but sex toys, which has raised a few eyebrows in Auburn.
