Lady Cougars soccer team win 13th straight game

Greenwood, S.C. -- Third-ranked Columbus State beat Lander 2-1 for a Peach Belt Conference victory Monday.

It was CSU’s 13th straight win. The Lady Cougars are 6-0 in the conference. Lander is 9-3-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the PBC.

After a scoreless first half, Gina Goforth scored the first goal for CSU in the 53rd minute. It was her 10th goal of the season.

Jill Walthall gave CSU a 2-0 lead about 11 minutes later.

Jamie Shaw scored for Lander in the 83rd minute.

CSU’s Kelly Nimmo had five saves.
