AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn cornerback Harry Adams has been dismissed from the football team for an unspecified violation of team rules.
Head coach Gene Chizik was not available for comment Thursday.
Adams, a 6-foot, 183-pound sophomore from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was a backup who played in all seven games this year. He made six tackles, four of those coming on special teams.

He played an expanded role at Arkansas after starter Walt McFadden injured his knee. Asked how Adams played, Chizik said, “Average. At best.”
Adams, who was recruited to Auburn as a receiver, twice made position switches last offseason, moving from cornerback to wide receiver in the spring before moving back to cornerback following Aairon Savage’s Achilles’ injury during the summer.
Adams’ departure leaves the Tigers with three scholarship players who are full-time cornerbacks: Walt McFadden, Neiko Thorpe and Demond Washington.
Redshirt freshman T’Sharvan Bell and sophomore D’Antoine Hood, a former Central-Phenix standout, are also options. Both have worked at safety and cornerback in their careers.
