The Hurtsboro, Ala. man fatally shot early Sunday didn't die in an act of random violence, the Russell County Sheriff’s Office said.

Alford Lorenzo Brown, 28, was shot outside of a Cobb Street home between 1-2 a.m. CST, said Lt. Heath Taylor. Brown was struck in the head and abdomen, Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. said.

“He was visiting that address there with some friends of his,” Taylor said. “As he exited a vehicle, he was shot. He was deceased at the scene.”
