U.S. News and World Report has named Columbus High as a Silver Award winner on its 2010 list of America's Best High School.

The award places the high school in the top three percent of high schools in the nation. Only 561 schools placed in the top three percent. Columbus High was one of only 11 high schools in the state to earn either a Gold or Silver Award.

U.S. News & World Report analyzed 18,743 high schools using a three-step process, including how the school educates students, factors for minority and disadvantaged students, and college-bound indicators based on statewide tests, Advanced Placement tests, and International Baccalaureate tests.
