Ron Baynes also was SEC official and played at Auburn

NFL supervisor of officials Ron Baynes will speak at the Columbus Phenix City Auburn Club meeting, which is open to the public, Wednesday, Feb. 3, at The Chattahochee River Club.

The social hour with hors d’oeuvres will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Baynes has officiated two Super Bowls. He alsowill discuss his 12 years as a Southeastern Conference official. He played football, basketball and baseball at Auburn and was coached by the legendary Ralph “Shug” Jordan. At 24, Baynes became head football coach at Selma High School.
