ATHENS – It took more than two months, but Georgia’s coaching staff is finally complete.

The Bulldogs announced the hiring of former Vanderbilt assistant Warren Belin as the final member of their new-look defensive staff Friday. Belin will coach linebackers, along with new defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.

“Warren has had some of the best linebackers and tacklers in the league for years,” head coach Mark Richt said in a release from the school. “I’ve always admired his work at Vandy and people have been talking to me about him for quite a while. When Todd and I interviewed him, we were very impressed with his knowledge of the game, schemes and fundamentals. He’s going to be a perfect mentor for our players, as well.”

Belin coached linebackers at Vandy for eight years and has worked as the Commodores’ recruiting coordinator for the past two seasons. In 2006 and 2007, he also served as the team’s special teams coordinator.
