Phenix City crime: Log trailer stolen from truck stop

A log trailer was stolen from a Phenix City truck stop Sunday night, police said.

The 40- to 45-foot trailer was taken between 5:30 p.m. and 5:25 a.m. Monday from the Citgo Truck Stop on U.S. 431, reports state.

“It was left there overnight,” Capt. Frank Ivey said. “The next morning, when the driver came back, the trailer itself was gone.”

Only the trailer was taken, Ivey said.

“We probably get one or two of them a year,” Ivey said of trailer thefts. “I’d say it’s pretty unusual.”
