Various Voices: How do you pinch pennies?

I go to the thrift store on post. I actually bought a bed there. I think I paid $75 for a queen bed. It was a whole lot less than it would have been in a (retail) store.

I only go shopping when there’s a sale. I’ve cut back because of money. I shop less even though we get extra money now that my husband is deployed.

I live in the Fayetteville (Ga.), but I will drive to a military base to shop. It’s tax free, and the prices are really lower. I bought a 52-inch TV at the PX for $1900, but the same one at Sam’s was $3,000.

My wife packs my lunch. It keeps me from going to McDonalds, and it probably saves me about $10 a day.

I find a lot of deals shopping online. I have a child so I use diapers.com. At the store it’s more money, but they have coupons online and shipping is free.
