Muscogee Schools: Fort Middle, Northside, Early College and Kendrick hosting open houses this week

Several Muscogee County schools are hosting open houses this week.

Fort Middle School will host a sneak-a-peek open house for incoming sixth graders tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the school on Woodruff Farm Road. Parents and students are invited. For more information, contact David Colbert at dcolbert@mcsdga.net or 706‐569‐3740.

Northside High will host an open house for its magnet program at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23. The high school on American Way offers an Engineering and Technology Design magnet program. For more information, contact magnet coordinator Mike Edmondson at 706-748-2920.

The Early College Academy at Kendrick will host an open house from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24. All current 8th grade students are invited to come and learn more about the program. The Early College Academy allows students to dual enroll at Columbus State University and earn college credit while still in high school without paying college tuition. Kendrick High will host an open house its new magnet program, the Academy of Communication Arts and Design, on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the school on Georgetown Drive. Students who enroll in the new academy will learn about computer operations, graphics and imagery software, photography and camera skills, and artistic expression.
