Six Russell County Middle School students have been selected to participate in the Alabama All-State Middle School Treble Choir.

Cassidy Brown, Hannah Dudley, Lindsay Langston, Jessica Freeman, Taylor Plunkett and Moesha Russell were selected for the choir based on their singing ability and knowledge of music.

They auditioned for the choir on Feb. 3 in Birmingham, competing against students from across Alabama.

The All-State Choir is made up of the best singers in the state and is sponsored by the Alabama Music Educators Association and the Alabama Vocal Association. Members will rehearse April 15 and 16 at Samford University in Birmingham and present a concert to the public at the Wright Center in Birmingham on April 16.
