Crystal Bowersox not only recovered from her hospital visit to perform on Wednesday's episode of American Idol -- she also delivered the best performance of the night.

At the end of the show, judge Simon Cowell said her rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "As Long As I Can See The Light" was his top tune of the night. It was hard to disagree. Accompanied by her guitar, Bowersox offered a soulful, emotional song that kicked off the show.

About the 10 minutes prior to Wednesday's show, host Ryan Seacrest tweeted that Bowersox would perform. On Facebook, Bowersox typed, "Don't worry, my 'beetus (diabetes) is under control. Thanks for all your well wishes, thanks to the boys, and the producers!! Can't wait to perform tonight."

At the front of Wednesday's female pack, Bowersox was joined by Lilly Scott, another "quirky" singer who has impressed the judges this season. Siobhan Magnus also wowed some fans by hitting an Adam Lambert-like high note at the end of her performance of Aretha Franklin's "Think."

Struggling? Teenagers Haeley Vaughn and Katie Stevens, both of whom have yet to find a musical identity.

Here's how I'd rank Wednesday's performances by the top 10 women:

1. Crystal Bowersox, "As Long As I Can See The Light"

2. Katelyn Epperly, "The Scientist"

3. Lilly Scott, "A Change Is Gonna Come"

4. Didi Benami, "Lean On Me"

5. Siobhan Magnus, "Think"

6. Paige Miles, "Walk Away"

7. Michelle Delamor, "With Arms Wide Open"

8. Katie Stevens, "Put Your Records On"

9. Lacey Brown, "Kiss Me"

10. Haeley Vaughn, "The Climb"

What do you think? Did Siobhan's big note sound cool, or screechy? Share your thoughts on our "American Idol."
