The Columbus supermarket sector is poised to become more competitive with the introduction of a gourmet grocery chain in the Bradley Park area.

The Fresh Market, headquartered in Greensboro, N.C., is locating in Bradley Park Crossing shopping center in space formerly occupied by Goody’s Family Clothing. Target is the anchor of the center, with PetSmart and Michael’s arts and crafts stores also there.

“It’s scheduled to open at the end of August,” Jordan Worrall, who works with the company’s public relations firm, confirmed Thursday. “I know that The Fresh Market’s really excited about the Columbus opening and happy to be in the market.”
