The celebrities can blame the rain for their messy hair, but who will they blame for their poor fashion choices? The 82nd Academy Awards had plenty of fashion faux pas. Here are our picks for best- and worst-dressed stars. Add your picks in the comments' section.

Features editor Dawn Minty's picks for best dressed: Sandra Bullock's silver and gold Marchesa gown. Sure, it looked a bit like an ice skating costume, but I loved it. The colors looked amazing when she was holding that Oscar.

Tina Fey, the smart writer/actress who typically makes stupid fashion choices, finally looked elegant and sophisticated in her one-shoulder black Michael Kors dress.

Carey Mulligan looked like an award winner in her black Prada gown with flower-shaped Swarovski crystals. The short-in-the-front, long-in-the back hemline was youthful and fun. Her earrings were the perfect accessory for the gown and her new short blond hairstyle.

Meryl Streep's sophisticated style came through in her long-sleeved, snow-white dress designed by Chris March, of "Project Runway."

Queen Latifah was lovely in her lavender Badgley Mischka gown. The silver crystals and one-shoulder style gave the dress just the right amount of glam.

Worst:

I usually love SJP's fashion choices but not this time. Sarah Jessica Parker's Chanel couture dress wasn't right for the Oscars. There was too much extra material in the middle of the dress, and her hair had some serious issues.

Jennifer Lopez was a princess gone wrong in her c iridescent pale pink silk organza gown. The dress would have been beautiful without the elaborate side train accented by Swarovski crystals. It made Lopez look like she had one giant hip. Not flattering.

I was completely confused by Charlize Theron's pink Dior dress. Those strange rose-like designs covering her bust were nightmarish.

Perhaps Zoe Saldano's dress was something only the Navi people could love. It looked like parts of two different gowns. The silvery sequin bodice was gorgeous, but the lilac and purple skirt with flamenco-like ruffles was a bizarre twist.

Sandra Okamoto's Best and Worst Dressed for the 2010 Oscars:

For Best Dressed:

I loved the way Queen Latifah looked in her lavender Badgley Mischka gown that was embellished with silver crystals. She looked fabulous.

As I've said all awards season, Gabourey Sidibe, a full-figured gal, has a good stylist. Marchesa dressed her in a deep blue gown, also with silver accents.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is often a hit-or-miss when it comes to awards shows. But tonight, she looked stunning in a Dries Van Noten gown. She took a risk in wearing a print. If only she'd do something with her hair.

Kate Winslet — in a silverish, slim, fitted corset-type top and flowing skirt by Yves St. Laurent — looked great.

Online, many fashion bloggers didn't like Zoe Saldana's Givenchy gown. I liked it. It was strapless, fitted to her knees and then exploded into a short train with tiny ruffle-like material. It was purple.

I liked Rachel McAdams' Elie Saab gown. She, too, went with a watercolor-like print.

Oscar-winner Mo'Nique wore a blue, fitted Tadashi dress and she's never looked better.

Meryl Streep wore a gown by Chris March. Chris March! If you're a "Project Runway" fan like me, you know he was a contestant a few seasons ago. It was white, with long sleeves and a deep V-neck, but it wasn't too revealing.

Helen Mirren, like Streep is of a certain age, and thankfully dresses like it. She wore a sparkly silver Badgley Mischka.

Runners-up: Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta, Sarah Jessica Parker in vintage Chanel and Demi Moore in Versace.

For the Worst Dressed:

Vera Farmiga's hot pink Marchesa dress was just too ruffly. Too, too much.

I love Tina Fey, but every other awards show is a miss. Tonight was a miss. The black, one-shouldered gown by Michael Kors was an unfortunate choice.

Mariah Carey, as always, shows really bad fashion choices. Tonight, she's wearing a blue Valentino gown. Too tight, with a long slit on the right side.

I can't imagine why Nicole Richie was at the ceremony, but she was, wearing a Reem Acra dress.

Anna Kendrick should know that a flesh-colored dress that matches one's skin tone is a no-no. The Elie Saab dress may have looked good on someone else.

Jennifer Lopez was pretty in a pink Armani gown, but the bottom had much too material.

Miley Cyrus. She's too young to be wearing such a gown. Always, always inappropriately dressed. Even a custom-made gown by Jenny Packham.

Charlize Theron's Dior gown had these huge cinnamon buns over her breasts. Yuck!

Diane Kruger is a beautiful woman but her Chanel gown was bad. Bad.

Penelope Cruz is someone I don't get. I didn't like her Donna Karan gown.

Runners-up: Carey Mulligan in Prada, Suzy Amis (James Cameron's wife) in Jillian Granz and I know that people love Sandra Bullock, but I wasn't crazy about her silver-and-gold Marchesa gown.

Reporter Sonya Sorich's best dressed:

Kristen Stewart in Monique Lhullier: I don't even like the "Twilight" stuff. But when comes to fashion, I appreciate evolution and maturity. Stewart, who in the past nearly proclaimed herself the queen of quirk, showed us she can really clean up with this gorgeous navy blue gown.

Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries van Noten: Was Maggie's island print too flashy for the Oscars? No way. It's the only thing that kept me awake during the first two hours of the show.

Diane Kruger in Chanel Haute Couture: I know, I know. Diane's gown was anything but traditional elegance. But I think it strikes the perfect balance between "unpredictable" and "fashion train wreck." She's also one of the few stars who mastered the ruffle trend without drowning in fabric.

Worst:

Charlize Theron in Dior Haute Couture: The majority of the pink-ish gown? Not too bad. But the strategically placed chest designs were just weird. The dress seemed to only fashion as a groping road map for guys.

Faith Hill in Roberto Cavalli: Goth-inspired black lace doesn't belong at the Oscars. That situation alone was bad enough -- let's not mention her too-high leg slit. Please don't give Miley any ideas, Faith.

George Clooney's hair: The long-ish style was not flattering. But I will still swoon.

Reporter Alan Riquelmy's best dressed:

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The "Crazy Heart" star has taken the ocean, woven her magic around the seas and tamed it to her command. Specifically, she made the seven seas her spectacular gown, and I want a swim. Move over Sponge Bob, I want to dive into that vast darkness and drown in a warm, salty sun cloaked by palm leaves.

Rachel McAdams: I'd like to time travel right over to Rachel McAdams' house after seeing her in this phenomenal dress. She is akin to a fairy princess, an ethereal demigoddess who wafts on gossamer wings across the red carpet. Perfection, have you met sexy? You have now.

Miley Cyrus: I slammed Cyrus for her atrocious excuse for a dress at the Grammys. Thankfully, she read my review and went a full 180, appearing at the Oscars clad in a shimmering white, off-the-shoulder piece that accentuated all the right spots. Is it going to be a white wedding? Who cares, she looks fantastic.

Worst:

Charlize Theron: Dear, God, what is that thing? Are those supposed to be flowers over your breasts or just gaudy ornaments covering a poorly designed dress? Is that the same material my sleeping bag is made of? You need to go back to the "Fashion Bug" and return that thing. It's not meant for the red carpet. It's what you wear at the dentist's when they do X-rays.

Diane Kruger: The only thing worse than this dress is the guy she has on her arm. Honey, you can't take the curtains from grandma's house, tie a boa around it and call it a dress. Then again, after being seen with Quentin Tarantino, maybe you need that dead Christmas tree garland to put yourself out of your misery.

Jennifer Lopez: This isn't the circus, Jennifer, and your dress shouldn't resemble a clown car. If only you were hiding another dress underneath that hump, then you wouldn't have made my list. Oh, and as a side note, ditch that flip at the top of the dress. You aren't a sticker to be peeled out of a children's book.

Copy editor Kara Edgerson's picks for best dressed: Zoe Saldana's purple Givenchy dress was absolutely beautiful. It's definitely a love me or hate me dress and only something that can be pulled off at the Academy Awards. And I can definitely say the "Avatar" star pulled the look off all the way down to the matching purple stilettos.

Sandra Bullock's silver and gold Marchesa gown definitely stole the show. Perfect look for an unforgettable night.

Queen Latifah: The actress/singer wore a crystal Badgley Mischka gown with some to-die-for earrings.

Honorary: Jennifer Hudson's blue gown at the Vanity Fair after-party. It fit all her curves perfectly. Maybe Mo'Nique should take some notes. Certain designs such as ruffles can draw attention to the wrong parts of your figure.

Worst dressed: Sarah Jessica Parker: I can't believe she decided to wear this Chanel dress to a major award show on the eve of the "Sex and the City" movie sequel. Definitely an epic fail. I hated everything -- the dress, the weird shaped flower or whatever that was and the makeup.

Jennifer Lopez should be on this list for the pink Armani gown that she wore during the award show. However, the black gown with a dramatic feather shoulder that she wore to the Vanity Fair party got her a promotion. She should have definitely worn that dress to the awards.
