A Columbus woman was repeatedly rammed by another vehicle as she drove her car with her 3-year-old daughter Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The 21-year-old was with her daughter and a friend around 12:20 p.m. at a gas station on North Lumpkin Road when she saw who she guessed was an ex-boyfriend. The former boyfriend became upset when he saw her with another man, and he rammed the front of her 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis with the front of his white SUV, reports state.

The woman then left the gas station and headed west on North Lumpkin Road. The suspect, however, followed, ramming her vehicle, police report. She turned onto Dawson Street, and the suspect pulled up beside her and bumped her car. That sent her into the curb, and the suspect stopped, got out of his car and approached, cursing and slapping her as she hid her head behind her arms, police said.

The other man with the woman ran from the scene, though he came back and told officers that he feared the suspect would shoot the woman, reports state.

Neither the man nor the child were hurt, police added.

Police report that warrants would be taken out on Greg Anderson, 23, of 4839 Delray Drive, in connection with the incident on charges of aggravated assault, simple battery, driving while license suspended, reckless driving and third-degree cruelty to children.
