A knock-out, drag-out fight may break out as Billy Blanchard, Susan Andrews and Rick McKnight, battle for the chance to be the Maestro for a Moment of the Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus concert on April 27.

Blanchard, president of Columbus Bank & Trust; Andrews, the superintendent of the Muscogee County School District and McKnight, owner of the Kiddie Shop and organist and choir director of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, will raise money to pick up the baton for the concert.

The YOGC will play music by Sibelius,Bach, Smetana and other composers in that concert, which will begin at 7 p.m. in the Bill Heard Theatre, RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, 900 Broadway.

YOGC string and symphony orchestras include middle and high school students from all over the Chattahoochee Valley. They are under the director of conductor and music director Jim Palmer.
