High school roundup: Brookstone baseball beats LaGrange 7-3

LAGRANGE, Ga. — Brookstone played up in classification Wednesday and took home a 7-3 victory from LaGrange.

Joey Lewis earned the win. In six innings pitched, he allowed three runs on six hits and four walks with three strikeouts. Lewis also launced a solo home run.

Brookstone’s top hitters were Brewer Carter (2-for-3, 2 runs) and Will Braxton (2-for-3, 2 RBIs).

Smiths reaches Lake Martin semis ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. — Smiths Station advanced to the semifinals of the Lake Martin Classic with two more wins Wednesday, 4-3 in eight innings over Tallassee and 8-4 over Benjamin Russell.

The Panthers are 3-1 in the 16-team event.

Dylan Nevels earned the pitching victory against Tallassee, then went 3-for-4 against Benjamin Russell.
