Are you feeling vernal?
It is over. Winter, that is. At 1:32 p.m. EDT Saturday, winter dies and spring is born. What do you intend to do about this heinous murder? Read on:
For one, the weather is supposed to be amazing on Friday and Saturday. Make sure you take advantage of Thunder in the Valley, the annual air show at the Columbus Metropolitan Airport. Since Sunday likely will be rainy, you’ll want to check it out from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. It’s $10 at the gate. The show is from 1-5 p.m., though you can get in the door starting at 10 a.m.
Want to celebrate the vernal equinox like a real pagan? Too bad. But you can try your hand at some paganish dishes, such as marinated lamb chops and a spring salad. Check out the link next to my picks for some recipes.
Finally, enjoy the sounds of The Good Doctor at Belloo’s, 900 Front Ave., on Saturday. Cover is $5, but this band is supposed to be really good, so dig deep in your wallet, enjoy a fruitini and kick back in the cool night climes while you can. Ninety degree days, and nights, are just a few weeks away.

Who's crying now?
Well, not me. I have a clean house, a hankering for Thai food and 48 hours of free time on my hands.
I'll kick off the weekend by satiating my culinary cravings at Chili Thai, 5870 Veterans Parkway. Bring a date and order the drunken noodles. Few things are sexier than a guy who can tolerate spicy food.
Saturday, check out an evening of Indian dance courtesy of the Kala-Anjali India Culture Center. The event is 5-7 p.m. at Columbus State University’s University Hall, main campus. Tickets are $10-$15. Call 706-562-0405 or 706-593-3529.
Continue your Saturday night party by heading to Spicoli's, 5762 Milgen Road. The hot spot celebrates its official grand opening with a performance by Talk Journey to Me, an Atlanta-based Journey tribute band. Party starts at 8 p.m.
