Want to bike around Midtown Columbus?

May 8 would be a good day for it.

MidTown, Inc. and the River Valley Regional Commission will sponsor the MidTown Bike Around. It starts at 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Columbus Museum, 1251 Wynnton Road, according to a news release.

Riders will learn about Columbus' 19th- and early 20th-century history while biking past antebellum estates and along tree-lined streets through neighborhoods of 1920s bungalows. The 9.3-mile ride will begin and end at the Columbus Museum, with a stop at an energizing station at the MidTown, Inc. headquarters on Wildwood Avenue.

A reception with complimentary appetizers at Locos Grill and Pub, 1358 13th Street, immediately following the bike tour, according to the release.

For more information or registration, e-mail leslieanne@midtowncolumbusga.org ; please include your T-shirt size and whether you will be renting a bicycle.
