Facebook fans watched their dream come true when Betty White hosted "Saturday Night Live" this week. White's hosting stint was a result of an Internet campaign. The show featured musical guest Jay-Z and guest stars like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch.

Opening sketch: The show opened with the Lawrence Welk skit where Kristen Wiig is the weird sister. Host Betty White played her mom. When White appeared on screen, the crowd went wild. The action even had to stop for applause.

Monologue: White told the audience she's 88, so "it's great to be here for a lot of reasons." She said she had a lot of people to thank for her hosting gig, but she especially thanks Facebook. She researched the social networking site and learned "it sounds like a huge waste of time."

Sure, it's a great way to reconnect with old friends, but White said to find her friends, "I need a Ouija board."

White said the Facebook concept of poking was around in her generation, but "it wasn't something you did on a computer. It was something you did on a hay ride, under a blanket."

MacGruber bit: Scooter-riding White played detective MacGruber's grandmother. She shared embarrassing details about his childhood, including his "Poocasso" nickname.

Sketch No. 2: NPR Returns! Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon resumed their roles as NPR hosts in a skit where they discussed the wonders of dietary fiber. Betty White played their guest from a bakery. Innuendo as usual. Two words: Good times.

Sketch No. 3: White played the mother of a guy coming out of the closet during a Latin talk show. She appeared only in the sketch's final moments, but her salsa dancing was priceless.

MacGruber bit: White played MacGruber's grandma again, offering lines like, "MacGruber, do you still have scars from when you had your breast reduction surgery?"

Sketch No. 4: In a scene set in the early 1900s, White was the only one aware of a young woman's obvious romantic preferences, which did not include men.

MacGruber bit: MacGruber professed his love for his grandma, played by White. He noted it's a shame you can't marry your grandma, then added, "Or can you?" White's response: "Are you out of your %&$& mind?"

Jay-Z performs: Jay-Z sang a medley of songs. It sounded fine, but the most memorable part was the mysterious woman -- er, Bridget Kelly -- who accompanied Jay to sing the chorus of "Empire State of Mind."

Weekend update: White accompanied Molly Shannon when she resurrected her Sally O'Malley character. Tina Fey joined Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler in their "Really?" bit.

Sketch No. 5: Betty White starred in the running "scared silly" prison bit.

Sketch No. 6: White played a retired detective in a "CSI: Sarasota" bit. Best line was when someone asked a question about a crime and White said the answer was like her underwear: Depends.

Sketch No. 7: White served up a hard metal version of the "Golden Girls" theme song.

Jay-Z returns: He performed "Young Forever" with Mr. Hudson, "dedicated to the most incredible Betty White."

Sketch No. 8: Tina Fey played a census taker visiting White. When Fey used the word "ascertain," White responded, "That used to be my stripper name."

That's all folks. Hands down, this was my favorite episode of the season. And you?
