Walker discusses mental illness

Herschel Walker accepts a Follow Me thank you gift from MG Michael Ferriter, Fort Benning commanding general, after talking about being strong enough to ask for help. Walker came to Fort Benning to encourage Soldiers to get help for combat-related post traumatic stress disorder, addiction and womenÂ’s issues including sexual trauma and chemical dependency for military wives.
Harris County group visits Fort Knox

Craig Dowling represented the Harris County Board of Education at a town hall information fair April 29 at Fort Knox, Ky. The event was an opportunity for those being transferred to Fort Benning to learn about area services like education and health care. Harris County stands to gain a significant number of new residents and possibly new businesses.
Students perform Bugz

Kindergarten through second-grade students performed Bugz, a musical written by John Jacobson and John Higgins May 4 at E.A.White Elementary School. The students performed once for the school and again that evening for parents.
Chilean general returns to post

Chilean military attaché to the United States, LTG Eduardo Garate, and LTC(R) Mike Dempsey share memories of their time as instructors. Dempsey presented Garate a cap from the Battle Lab when the general returned to the post to visit the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation.
