AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn running back Dontae Aycock was dismissed from the team Friday for an undisclosed violation of rules.

Aycock, a four-star recruit out of Tampa, Fla., in 2009, redshirted his freshman year. Coaches got a better look at him this spring and expected to move him around to different positions, including H-back, during two-a-days.

He ran five times for 16 yards and a touchdown in the A-Day scrimmage but wasn’t expected to get major carries this season. Mario Fannin, Onterio McCalebb and incoming freshman Michael Dyer were expected to be ahead of him on the tailback depth chart.

Aycock is the second member of the 2009 class to officially leave the program in the past three days, joining quarterback Tyrik Rollison, who intends to transfer.
