On the last night of preliminary judging in the 2010 Miss Georgia Pageant, three news finalists emerged.
Contestants were divided into three groups for the preliminary judging, which ended Friday night. A win in the talent portion of the judging earns a $500 scholarship. Scholarships of $250 are given for swimsuit and evening wear winners.
Here are Friday’s winners:
Talent: Miss Southern Heartland Christina McCauley, 21, who sang “This is My Beloved.”
Swimsuit: Miss Rome, Briana Jewett, 21
Evening wear: Miss Atlanta Laura Stone, 23
Tonight, 10 finalists will be picked, then a new Miss Georgia will be crowned.
Teen winners
Georgia’s Outstanding Teens’ preliminary competition winners are Amelia Hunt, 14, Acworth’s Outstanding Teen in evening wear, Capital City’s Outstanding Teen Camille Sims, 17, in fitness and Cobb County’s Outstanding Teen Tara Steele, in talent, who did a jazz dance to “Right Now.”
