All outside Muscogee County school athletic and band practices between noon and 6 p.m. are canceled today due to the heat index.
Indoor activities should be conducted in air-conditioned rooms.
According to the National Weather Service, today's temperatures are supposed to reach 100, but the heat index will make it feel like 109.
