Five contestants were eliminated from ABC's "Bachelor Pad" during the show's fifth episode which aired Monday, Sept. 6. Three women Gwen, Nikki and Ashley were sent home at the beginning of the episode and Jesse Beck and Peyton Wright were eliminated at the end. The remaining six players are ultimately competing for $250,000. The season finale is next Monday, Sept. 13.
ELIMINATED DURING WEEK FIVE
Jesse Beck: 25, a contractor in Missouri who was on Season 6 with Ali Fedotowsky. "I feel like I played this game exactly the way I should have. I wouldn't change a thing. I really don't know how the votes went... Somebody definitely stabbed me in the back... I feel like those people are fairly fake," he said.
Peyton Wright: 27, cheerleader apparel saleswoman in Dallas, who was on Season 10 with Andy Baldwin. "I can't believe it's over. This is a huge letdown. Coming into the house I was, for sure, an outsider. And making it into the group of cool kids... and then to turn around and still be outside, it's tough... It's a game. I wish it was me still standing there."
Nikki Kappke: 30, administrative assistant in Chicago who was on Season 13 with Jason Mesnick.
Gwen Gioia: age undisclosed (hey, she was on the 2003 Season Two with Aaron Buerge). She's a project manager in Philadelphia.
Ashley Elmore: 30, teacher in Virgina, who was on season 14 with Jake Pavelka.
Here's a recap of episode five:
Season five started with four men and seven women. To even the playing field, host Chris Harrison told each male competitor to pick one woman to keep on the show. These pairs will compete as a team for the rest of the competition. Though the guys seemed to ponder their decisions, it was not a surprise to see Kiptyn Locke pick Tenley Molzhan and Jesse Kovacs choose Elizabeth Kitt. Those couples had been linked since before the show started. A bit more interestingly, Jesse Beck chose Peyton Wright and David Good picked Natalie Getz.
Jesse Kovacs seemed hesitant to pick Elizabeth even though he's been dating her for several months. "She's got a screw loose," he told cameras.
Peyton was happy to stay in the competition but she was not pleased with her partner, Jesse Beck. "I would maybe rather do this on my own," she said.
The first partner challenge was a water-balloon toss. The first couple to drop three water balloons was eliminated. First out was team Jesse/Peyton. Second out was Kiptyn/Tenley. Team Dave/Natalie won. Dave and Natalie earned immunity from elimination and a date.
"I thought that Jesse was going to be leaning on me... but at the end of the day, I really let my nerves get the best of me, and I feel like I really let him down," Peyton said. Jesse tried to make her feel better by saying even though Peyton dropped the balloons, he didn't throw them well. "Jesse B. is the greatest," Peyton said. "I wouldn't have traded you as a teammate for anybody," Jesse told Peyton.
"We're probably going home," Peyton said after losing the balloon toss. Tenley and Elizabeth were friends before the show as were Jesse K. and Dave.
Before Dave and Natalie left for their date, Tenley told Natalie to consider eliminating Elizabeth and Jesse K. instead of the natural choice of Peyton and Jesse B. Natalie seemed alarmed at first but quickly warmed to the idea when Tenley reminded her that Jesse K. and Elizabeth knew each other the best and would likely win any question-answer contests.
Natalie talked to Dave about the game's strategy and he confessed that he and Jesse K. had a pact to take each other to the end of the game. "We've gotten our friends as far as we can possibly get them, and now it's about the money," Natalie said. Jesse K. and Dave chatted back at the house and agreed their original plan was still intact.
Jesse K. and Elizabeth decided to sneak into the fantasy suite at the Bachelor Pad house to spend some time together. Jesse K. said he thought Elizabeth was looking for something more serious than he was but "if a girl catches a bad case of Kovacs, so be it."
Though one couple would be eliminated together, each player would individually chose which couple he or she wanted to go home. Tenley, Natalie, Peyton and Jesse B. agreed to vote to eliminate Jesse K. and Elizabeth. Dave, Elizabeth and Jesse K. decided to vote off Peyton and Jesse B. Kiptyn's vote was unknown.
When it was time vote, Natalie changed her mind and voted to send Peyton and Jesse B. home. "I can't go against my own partner. If I don't have his trust, there's no way we'll be the last ones standing," Natalie said.
MALE CONTESTANTS REMAINING
David Good: 28, an entrepreneur in Ohio who was on Season 5 with Jillian Harris. He got drunk on one episode and was a bit crass when pointing out that Jillian was unknowingly flashing him.
Kiptyn Locke: 32, a sales manager in California who was on Season 5 with Jillian Harris.
Jesse Kovacs: 28, a winemaker from L.A., who was on Season 5 with Jillian Harris.
FEMALE CONTESTANTS REMAINING
Natalie Getz: 28, bartender in Hollywood, who was on Season 13 with Jason Mesnick.
Tenley Molzhan: 26, college admissions worker in California, who was best known for her "Disney-like" voice in Season 14 with Jake Pavelka.
Elizabeth Kitt: 30, saleswoman in L.A., who was on refused to kiss Jake Pavelka on Season 14, despite taunting him in each episode.
Eliminated week four:
Krisily Kennedy: 30, personal assistant in L.A., who was the runner-up in Season 7 with Charlie O'Connell. Her final words? "I'm just angry... I was told one thing and voted a certain way because of it... I have been nothing but honest with everyone in this house and no one could be honest with me, and I don't respect that." She said the couples Tenley Molzhan/Kiptyn Locke and Elizabeth Kitt/Jesse Kovacs would be the final four because no one else had "the guts" to vote them off. Dave Good told Krisily that he wouldn't vote to eliminate her, but after a conversation with Kiptyn he changed his mind. "What Dave did tonight was unacceptable," Krisily said.
Wes Hayden: 33, the musician from Texas is best known for having a girlfriend back home while dating Jillian Harris on Season 5. He is often called the worst (best?) villain in Bachelor history. Wes' final words? "I had a hell of time. Thanks."
ELIMINATED WEEK THREE:
Jonathan Novack, a 31-year-old from Houston, was most recently on Season 6 of "The Bachelorette" with Ali Fedotowsky. "I came here looking for money, and maybe some love, and I went home with neither one," he said when he was eliminated from "The Bachelor Pad."
Gia Allemand, a 26-year-old swimsuit model from New York, who appeared on Season 14 of "The Bachelor" with Jake Pavelka, was sad to leave one person in particular. "I didn't have any idea that I'd get so close to some of the people that I have... If I didn't go home tonight I would have told Wes how I felt... I'm an emotional wreck right now," she said.
ELIMINATED WEEK TWO:
Craig McKinnon: 34, the dental salesman in Canada, who is best known for his hair and being an enemy of "The Weatherman" during Season 6 with Ali Fedotowsky. The Weatherman once called Craig "dangerous." Craig was upset with Gia for lying about giving him the rose on their date. "I feel awful about Craig," Gia said.
Jessie Sulidis: 25, makeup artist in Canada, who appeared on Season 14 with Jake Pavelka. "I can't believe this is over. My whole plan backfired... I don't even know where me and Dave stand... I hope that I found love in the house," she said. David said "We had a good connection... I tried to change my vote at the end but it wasn't enough."
The "outside" girls were stunned that Kiptyn wasn't sent home. "I'm predicting the worst... I'm pretty much not trustworthy to the girls," Nikki said about changing her vote.
ELIMINATED WEEK ONE:
Juan Barbieri said if he could walk away from the show with $250,000 or the love of his life, he'd "take the money and run."
Occupation: contractor
Age: 37
Home: Los Angeles
Season: 5 with Jillian
Final words: "I'm shocked... I guess she (Nikki) gets the last laugh," Juan said. "It will be less stressful," Nikki said.
Michelle Kujawa
Occupation: Sales
Age: 26
Home: California
Season: 14 with Jake
Final words: Michelle was angry with Tenley." I don't deserve to be treated this way," Michelle said. The guys disagreed. "There just weren't enough roses for all of Michelle's personalities. Besides, it's hard to put a rose on a straight jacket," The Weatherman said.
