Benning Bass Club wraps up tourney at Uchee Creek

Benning Bass Club The Benning Bass Club had a two-day tournament Saturday and Sunday at Uchee Creek. Day one took place at River Bend and participants launched from Uchee Creek on day two. By the end of day one, Randy Duncan led with 12.23lbs, Jim Stutts was second with 11.50lbs, and Adam Linkenhoker was 3rd with 11.04lbs.

After a very hot and tough two-day tournament, the final standings were as follows: 1st place was Adam Linkenhoker with 16.65lbs, Jim Stutts came in second with 14.75lbs, John Brady earned third with 14.60lbs, 4th was Randy Duncan with 14.10lbs, and rounding out the top five was Larry Jones with 9.78lbs. Unseasonably warm temperatures made for two days of extremely tough fishing, but those who stuck it out and managed to find a few fish ultimately came out on top.

The next Benning Bass club meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Legacy Dealership on Manchester Expressway. It is open to those working or stationed at Fort Benning. For more information, visit www.benningbassclub.com. The next tournament will be Oct. 9-10 at Lake Martin.

The Benning Bass Club will host a fishing rodeo at Lake Oliver Oct. 2 to help support the Ranger Memorial Foundation. The tournament will be from safe light until 2 p.m. With an $1800 guaranteed payback, broken down as follows: $100 for big bass every hour and $1000 for overall big bass. This tournament is open to the public and registration will be at the Lake Oliver city marina prior to the event.
