An arrest has been made in the murder of 28-year-old Keith William Farmer of Phenix City.

Taken into custody in Troup County Tuesday night was 29-year-old Adam Westly Barringer of Phenix City.

Captain Frank Ivey of the Phenix City Police Department said Barringer was arrested at an apartment. He said several law enforcement agencies were involved in the hunt for Barringer.

"We believe we have the right person," said Ivey.

Farmer was killed Monday evening. He was found by Phenix City police with a gunshot wound to the head.

"There were several witnesses at the scene who identified Barringer," said Ivey.

The killing took place at 19 Kinnett Drive in the Ladonia area. It was in a mobile home park and Farmer's body was found inside a mobile home.

"There were some drugs at the scene so we believe drugs were at least part of the motive," said Phenix City Police Chief Raymond Smith.
